Moving Back to Texas

Well, it’s official. After lots of soul searching the past few weeks, I have decided that I will be returning to my home of San Antonio, Texas in July. I have moved 9 times in the past 10 years (between various apartments and Cities)

I’ve realized that this is now taking a toll on my mental health and as I am approaching the age of 40 in less than 2 years, I feel it is time to settle down, buy a home, and re-plant my roots for the long haul. If I want to see cool new places, I’ll take vacations throughout the year!

Minnesota is wonderful and there is lots to love here. However, I have to admit that the Winter is a bit too much for this Texan to handle. I love cold weather but -21 degrees is dangerous and keeps everyone indoors. No fun for someone that works from home alone.

However, even when the weather was great here my heart just wasn’t here. I miss my friends terribly and have come to learn what is really important to me in life. The power of friendship, community, and family is something I am wanting to have and grow with. In addition, I am ready to add more value to the City that raised me.

All of my journeys around the World have truly been special to me including my time here in Minnesota. There are life lessons to be gained from these types of experiences. I have lived in San Francisco, Austin, Taiwan, Spokane (briefly), and currently Minnesota. I like to think of these as Bridges I have created from San Antonio.

As far as my future life in San Antonio, I can’t allow myself to recreate a bubble in which I don’t get involved and meet new friends as well. I want to make a difference in my City which will include becoming active in the Gay community in addition to fighting for the rights of others with the Texas Democrat party.

All that said, I am extremely excited for what the future has in store for me. I have no doubt that the second half of my life will be absolutely fabulous!
